In particular, 'Ivy's Gift' and 'Angel' was started about 4 years ago. At the time I could not decide how to finish. Whenever that happens with any project, I stop. This happens a lot. After Halloween, I decided to give PS a try. I wanted to experiment and begin to learn what it could do, which is one reason the illustrations are not always clean lined, and coloured. It was a fun exercise that gave me a chance to explore a medium that I tried and liked several years ago on a First edition Ipad. Having spent some time on PS, I have to say it is kinda fun! The fear of. making mistakes is reduced by hitting the erase key. I love the playful options. and all the skills to be learned. I would like to try illustrator in the future to compare. However, the physical act of making the stroke, line, or dash is quite imperative to feeling the joy ride . The essence of risk is what gives a real thrill. It shows me who I am and what I feel., and how to surprise myself. Experimentation is so key to my work, it is the calm before the storm of flow in the spirit of art. Digital illustration is different. The work is achieved faster and cleaner. Perfect for printed products. The illustrations come from spending a lot of time with my daughters, teaching, and my love for animation, fashion, and the supernatural. Each card is quite curious and unique. They all hold a face of innocence, mischief, and mystery.

STUDY SKETCHES Dante Alighieri (1265–1321) The Divine Comedy Inferno [Hell] Read Dante Inferno CANTO III Old Ferryman Charon RIVER ARCHERON ARGUMENT.—Dante, following Virgil, comes to the gate of Hell; where, after having read the dreadful words that are written thereon, they both enter. Here, as he understands from Virgil, those were punished who had passed their time (for living it could not be called) in a state of apathy and indifference both to good and evil. Then, pursuing their way, they arrive at the river Acheron; and there find the old ferryman Charon, who takes the spirits over to the opposite shore; which, as soon as Dante reaches, he is seized with terror, and falls into a trance. "...and there find the old ferryman Charon, who takes the spirits over to the opposite shore; which, as soon as Dante reaches, he is seized with terror, and falls into a trance..." CANTO V. Coming into the second circle of Hell, Dante at the entrance beholds Minos the infernal Judge, by whom he is admonished to beware how he enters those regions. Here he witnesses the punishment of carnal sinners, who are tossed about ceaselessly in the dark air by the most furious winds. Amongst these, he meets with Francesca of Rimini, through pity at whose sad tale he falls fainting to the ground. MINOS THE INFERNAL JUDGE Below His Feet CANTO V Caina is in the lowest circle of the Inferno, where fratricides are punished. Francesca, daughter of Guido da Polenta, Lord of Ravenna, and wife of Gianciotto Malatesta, son of the Lord of Rimini. The lover, Paul Malatesta, was the brother of the husband, who, discovering their amour, put them both to death with his own hand. “O living creature gracious and benignant, who visiting goest through the purple air...” To rest in peace with all his retinue. Love, that on gentle heart doth swiftly seize, Seized this man for the person beautiful That was ta’en from me, and still the mode offends me. Love, that exempts no one beloved from loving, Seized me with pleasure of this man so strongly, That, as thou seest, it doth not yet desert me; Love has conducted us unto one death; Caina waiteth him who quenched our life!” Paris and Tristan THE SECOND CIRCLE. - Creating An Oracle | Hazel C Copcutt
CREATING AN ORACLE Listening To The Inner Self and Studying The Occult. The idea to design my own cards sort of crept over me like a spider creepy crawling over you in your sleep. The nature of such a collection is complex in its structure. I must pull together mind, spirit and soul, that is to say, I must include intellect and knowledge as well as intuition and spirit for the creation of something I feel to be true in nature. Combining subjects and styles given by Fine Art, History, Mythology, Astronomy, Astrology, the Animal kingdom, Nature, Occult knowledge, Yoga and Meditation. From this, I am using several mediums to study, and explore the emerging signs and entities that appear. This is probably one of my biggest challenges I have set myself. It won't be easy and it won't be finished fast. After years of exploring the Faerie Oracle Cards by Brian Froud and Jessica (....) I felt drawn to attempt to create my own, even though I never drew my own faerie on the given blank card. But what I realised is this, the Interrupted series showed me that more abstract and expressive/surrealist images are also everywhere once seen. And so, the abstract oracle cards were the first group. Now, I have no idea at this point, what will happen. But I have created several groups now, my only hope is that I don't get too confused, if this happens I shall strip away groups and create a more simple deck until things are for certain. 72 CARDS A Work In Progress Six Kinds of Cards Twelve Entities In Each Kind 12 Royals 12 Elementals Creating An Oracle: Text 12 Zodiac Signs 12 Abstract Beings 12 Etheral Beings 12 Animals
- May: Oil Painting Challenge | Hazel C Copcutt
MAY: OIL PAINTING CHALLENGE Influence of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and the Moon 5 days = 3 newpaintings Contact 'BEFORE FALLING TO EARTH' The Innerchild In this oil painting, there has been an attempt to discover a space in time cut out for where the soul rests before the calling of the Earth. An innocent childlike vision of pastel and neon blue. As in most of the recent work the colours purple, blue, pink and gold (silver too) are of most importance to me when expressing the cosmic planes. There are strokes of physical earthly presence drawn from the intuitive, playful mind. May: Oil Painting Challenge: Image To be signed ready for exhibition. "Welcome to the Celestial Period" Before Movement WORKING AT HOME just a tiny space ***** 'BRIGHT LIGHTS' €400 Pure Energy ***** 'OH THE SILENCE INSIDE'. A painting that begun with the idea of sound in mind, then a bat appeared, though it appears to be finished, you know, I am not quite sure if it is. As soon as I know for sure, more words will be written here discussing the piece. :) €400

- ARTP Dark Desires Crimson Red | art
Dark Matter Beneath the Crimson Red 'Something in the way she moves'...a new performance, I shall be creating two characters that essentially are a duo of the same mind, divided by the psyche. the complex nuances between my inner dark and light by playing with shadows and the colour red on the skin. I want to capture moments when something is revealed within the framing of creative photography and film with added text and narration. A new experimental process is born today. This body, this light, shadow and the colours red and nude. This is an exploration, research, a work that will be revealed over time. It is time to present to you the stories that need to be shared. I'm trying to figure something out however I'm not sure what the question is yet... ...What it means to understand the needs and expression of these two characters of light and dark could be the question. "Dark matter produces an attractive force (gravity), while dark energy produces a repulsive force (antigravity). Together, they make up 96 percent of the universe—and we can't see either. Astronomers know dark matter exists because visible matter doesn't have enough gravitational muster to hold galaxies together". Article BY MARK STRAUSS, mindfloss.com What happens to our body under these forces? I remember smiling whenever the rain hit the window. A skylight window so the rain is louder. I could see a red theatre curtain slowly opening. Behind the curtain was an empty space, darkness, pitch black. When should I mention to him that I saw a man staring up from under a tree? He looked like a 1950's journalist or something. He was wearing dark frames, a large rectangular kind. That colour camel, a camel coat on pale skin is not so pleasing to my eye. In that darkness behind the red curtain, something began to appear a blurring a morphing of shapes then turn into a woman. her face always beautiful with every race of woman glitching from one to the next. Her pose always curled up and then stretched out. As she switches one more time before pausing to become a woman with starry eyes. A sound indistinguishable at first, it is a trumpet, a trumpet sound inside a swirling chaotic surge of air. This Page is being Worked On!
